This blog was created in January 2008, as an outlet for my musings and ponderings on various matters, all generally relating to freedom of speech and open debate. My aim in writing it is to observe and expand upon the common ground between science and the humanities, to increase understanding between the two groups, and to generally enjoy myself in the process.

I can regularly be found blathering on at length about all sorts of matters, from morality without religion, to cultural paganism; from the power of symbolism to the utterly fascinating placebo effect.

Mission Statement

I started this blog at the beginning of 2008, as an outlet for my sceptical musings on various topics, inspired by the examples of the Skeptoid and The Skeptic's Guide To The Universe podcasts, and Skepchick.org among many others. This is me doing my part to get the message out to as many people as possible that rationality is vitally important - especially given the increasingly vocal nature of the competition. Though the main focus of this blog will be sceptical musings about my own areas of interest, such as philosophy, science fiction, politics and ecology, I expect virtually every conceivable topic will come up at one point or another, including abstract thoughts about the value of scepticism itself. So come and join the debate.
